The base earth electrode is the first element of vertical earthing with a spike to make it easier to bury it in the ground. A properly profiled tip (cone) enables the installation of another vertical earthing element – the extension earthing rod – by pressing it in. This connection is also characterized by a very good electrical connection between the two earth electrodes.
